Weekly Roundup
Reunions and Remixed Jingles
What a week it’s been for those of us who still haven’t quite accepted that the 90s were thirty years ago! First up, our hearts did a collective somersault seeing John Stamos and Jodie Sweetin (Uncle Jesse and Stephanie Tanner herself) reuniting for a dance on Instagram. It’s lovely to see the Full House family is still as close as ever.
Meanwhile, the original survivors of Woodsboro gathered for the premiere of Scream 7, celebrating 30 years of the franchise. Seeing Neve Campbell and Courteney Cox back together makes us want to check the locks on our front doors and brush up on our scary movie trivia.
Finally, Folgers is bringing back the nostalgia in a big way by remixing their classic "Best Part of Wakin' Up" jingles with modern artists. It’s a brilliant nod to the sounds that defined our mornings for decades.
Commercial of the Week
Folgers: "Peter Comes Home" (1986)
Is there any commercial more iconic than this one? Peter coming home for Christmas, waking up his little sister, and the whole house being drawn downstairs by the smell of fresh coffee. It’s the ultimate "warm and fuzzy" advert that managed to run for over 20 years without losing its charm.

Fun fact: The original actor who played Peter, Greg Evigan, actually went on to star in the TV show My Two Dads!
Good News in the 80s/90s
The Return of the Woodsboro Survivors
In a world of reboots, there’s something genuinely heart-warming about seeing the original cast of Scream reunite. Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox, and David Arquette have shared so much history on and off-screen, and their reunion at the latest premiere felt like a proper family homecoming. It’s a brilliant reminder of why we fell in love with Sidney Prescott and the gang back in 1996.
Fun fact: Courteney Cox was the first person to ever use the word "friend" in the first episode of Friends—and she’s certainly kept many from her Scream days!
Movies in the 80s/90s
Pretty in Pink (1986)
Released on February 28, 1986, this John Hughes classic defined the "brat pack" era. Whether you were Team Blane or Team Duckie, the story of Andie Walsh navigating high school social hierarchies (and making her own prom dress) remains a masterclass in teenage angst and style.

Fun fact: The original ending had Andie choosing Duckie, but test audiences hated it so much they reshot the ending where she goes after Blane.
Game of the Week
Street Fighter II (1991)
Before every home had a console that could render photorealistic graphics, we were crowding around arcade cabinets with a pocket full of change for Street Fighter II. It didn’t just create the fighting game genre as we know it; it created a global phenomenon. Hearing "Hadouken!" for the first time was a core memory for many of us.
Fun fact: Chun-Li was the first female playable character in a one-on-one fighting game, paving the way for countless iconic heroes.
Cartoon Corner
X-Men: The Animated Series (1992)
That theme song alone is enough to transport you straight back to Saturday morning with a bowl of sugary cereal. X-Men wasn't just a cartoon; it tackled complex themes of prejudice and identity, all while giving us some of the most iconic character designs in Marvel history. Wolverine’s yellow suit will always be his best look, sorry not sorry.
Fun fact: The series was so popular it actually helped save Marvel from bankruptcy in the mid-90s!
Tech Time Machine
The Pager (Beeper)
Remember the feeling of your hip vibrating and the frantic rush to find a payphone? Before we had the internet in our pockets, the pager was the ultimate status symbol. If you had a pager, you were either a doctor, a drug dealer, or a very cool teenager with parents who worried too much. Coding messages like "143" for "I love you" was our version of emojis.

Fun fact: At its peak in 1994, there were over 61 million pager users worldwide!
Poster of the Week
Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991)
Arnold on a Harley with a shotgun. It doesn't get much more "90s action" than this. This poster hung on bedroom walls across the globe, promising (and delivering) the greatest action sequel ever made.
Fun fact: The "Terminator" font used on the poster became so popular it was used for almost every sci-fi product for the next decade.
Random Things of the Week
POGS
If you didn't spend your lunch break trying to flip a stack of cardboard discs with a heavy plastic "slammer," did you even grow up in the 90s? POGS were the ultimate playground currency. We traded them, lost them, and occasionally even played the game correctly.
Fun fact: The name "POG" actually stands for Passion Fruit, Orange, and Guava—the juice caps that started the craze in Hawaii.
That's your lot for this week. If any of this brought back some memories, hit reply and let us know - we love hearing your stories. See you next week for more trips down memory lane.
